Since the beginning of 2018, the Turkish tourism sector has witnessed a high turnout of domestic and foreign tourists. Experts expect an increase of the foreign tourism to Turkey by 20% in 2018 to reach 38 million tourists.
Turkey received 32 million and 400 thousand tourists last year, and total revenues from the tourism sector in Turkey to 26 billion dollars.
Turkish Minister of Culture and Tourism “Numan Qourtulmush” said that Turkey aims to attract 36 million tourists in 2018, with revenues of up to $ 34 billion.
The year 2018, according to experts, is the return of tourists who have traveled to destinations other than Turkey in the past two years but with increasing numbers.
In 2017 Turkey's domestic tourism grew by 15 percent, increasing by 10 million tourists.
Hotel prices are seeing an increase of up to 30 percent, although the tourist season in Turkey has not yet begun, due to the early booking granted to those wishing to spend a vacation in Turkey, reasonable prices for accommodation and other tourist services.
Winter tourism has also developed in Turkey, especially after the influx of ski enthusiasts and visitors to Turkey's hot springs. Ski resort bookings witnessed a 50 percent increase in January 2018. Tourists are expected to continue to enjoy Turkish tourism facilities throughout the year.
