Soon... Parking Lots to Be Imposed on New buildings in Turkey

The issue of cars parking is one of the most important things for real estate workers in this period especially after the latest news about imposing new condition for establishing a parking in each new building from now on, which is very important for those wishing to invest in real estate, because parking is a key factor when buying or selling the property, especially in major cities such as Istanbul, Ankara, and Izmir.

In the past period, there have been many rumors about the Ministry of Environment and the cities’ intention to pass a law forcing to establish one lot at least for each apartment in the buildings that will be constructed from now and later.

The Minister of Environment and Cities in Turkey, Mr. Mohammad Ozhsky, said in the Turkish People's Assembly during the deliberations of 2018 budget that the law will be published soon, and the old law provides for the allocation of a public lot for every three buildings, While the new law will require the establishment of a parking space for each building, including the necessary places for cars in all apartments of this building.

The Ministry is currently working on several projects in this context, in order to reduce the traffic burden in the cities and provide parking for its inhabitants. One of the projects that the Ministry is working on is to build parking spaces under public squares and highways, in order to reduce the congestion on roads.
