The real estate sector in Turkey is witnessing a number of recent developments as the government is continuously working to support this sector to reach the highest international standards by adding many new standards in order to keep being up to date of the new developments in the world. The Turkish government plans to add three new standards in September to real estate construction that will be built from now on.
The first of these three measures will be the Seismic scale TS EN 81-77, which aims to reinforce the elevators in the buildings so that the elevators do not cause damage to those exist in it during the earthquake because of the parts that may be scattered. This important measure will be applied simultaneously with many applications that will increase the safety of buildings in general. The buildings which the urban transformation will affect will be the first places where these measurements will be applied.
The other measures to be implemented in September 2017 are those related to the amendment of the Construction Law, which provided for the allocation of at least one car park for every three apartments and for the law to be in the form of allocation of at least one car park of each apartment. In addition to the measure of not exceeding the total area of construction which is more than 40% of the total area allocated for this project in the projects that will be built newly.
The Turkish govenment has taken many steps to improve the living conditions of the people in the cities. Many new applications have been launched in this context in order to encourage buildings that extend horizontally rather than vertically. The Turkish President Recep Tayyip Erdogan has recommended in a speech in the past months about the need to go to this architectural style because it has a significant impact on improving the quality of life of the people in cities.
