Turkish Minister of Foreign Affairs Mevlüt Çavuşoğlu said in his personal account on the social networking site Twitter that many high-speed rail lines will be constructed, in addition to the two very fast trains located in the axis between Konya and Ankara, and between Ankara and Istanbul.
According to the minister, new lines will be established between the cities of Antalya and Bordor-Isparta, adding that the new trains will be one of the most modern trains in the category of "very fast" and said that "applied projects" have started in this context.
The issue of high-speed trains had been on the agenda of the city of Antalya for a long time, and the Minister said that the actual steps had begun in this context.
This was initiated by the Directorate General of Railways of the Republic of Turkey for the Operational projects required for the very fast rail connections between the cities of Antalya - Bordor - Esparta, as well as the cities of Eskishahir - Kutahia - Afyon Kara Hisar, which is currently operating efficiently. The identification of the necessary tracks for these modern lines has been completed.
